Welcome to the event page for Jo Handelsman’s 40-year lab-iversary! The event will take place from the evening of Friday, July 11th to Sunday, July 13th in Madison, Wisconsin. Plan to have fun, connect with lab members from across the eras, and learn about the science happening all over the world from JoLab alum.

Hotel block booking

Where should I stay?

A hotel block is reserved at Union South at UW-Madison. Book a room online or call +1(608) 263-2600 and mention the “Microbial Interactions Through Decades” Symposium. Union South is directly across the street from the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery.

Rooms must be reserved by June 13.

How much does this cost?

We are trying to keep costs as low as possible to accommodate event spaces, some meals, and other expenses. There is a suggested donation is $75/person. Current students are not expected to donate.

The poster session is an opportunity to share your current research/work.

Poster boards and pins will be provided.

Poster size: Max width x height: 42 x 36 inches

Presentations

Presentations are an opportunity to share the projects you worked on while you were in the Handelsman Lab and how these shaped other work throughout your career. We will hear presentations from lab alumni throughout the eras.
